Nha Trang airport: (IATA: NHA, ICAO: VVNT). Cam Ranh Airport (IATA: CXR, ICAO: VVCR), located on Cam Ranh Bay in the province of Khanh Hoa,Vietnam. 30 minutes south of town.
Vietnam Airlines has announced it will begin to use Cam Ranh Airport for all its flights to and from the coastal city of Nha Trang in Khanh Hoa Province, starting May 19, 2004. Cam Ranh, 35km to the south of Nha Trang, will be used to accommodate bigger, long-haul aircraft on its 3km long runway while the 2km runway at Nha Trang Airport will be used to service smaller aircraft, such as the 70-seat ATRs and Fokkers.
Cam Ranh airport will also have the advantage of a night-time lighting system, unlike the Nha Trang airport, which is located in the centre of the city. (vietnamnews.vnanet.vn)
