After drying and smoothening, I thought it is still good to travel so I applied for the Vietnamese Visa Exemption. I have just received my passport back but I still want to make sure it could be used to travel so I contacted Aust passport office and they told me it needs to be replaced. Can you please advise whether my current Vietnamese Visa Exemption from the damaged passport can be tranferred to the new passport which I will receive in a few days time and the fee I am required to pay for the transfer. There had been many cases like the story and I had experienced few. Due to the fact that there are two main piers in Cat Ba island, one is Ben Beo quite close to center of town and the other is 3ok from main area. Back packing companies take tours to one or the other base on the bugget people want to spent and some time It makes confusion.
