CAN THO

Economic center of the Mekong Delta. All waterways lead to Can Tho and as such it is major destination for travelers. A favourite attraction is Phung Hiep floating market.

Bus departs every hour from Ho Chi Minh City bus station Mien Tay, 137 Hung Vuong, D.6, tel:877-6593. Tickets cost $2.

CHAU DOC

Chau Doc in An Giang Province is a small but busy town on the west bank of the Hau River. Head south west from Chau Doc, within about 5km there is the holy Sam Mountain, with a complex of temples and pagodas, including the Nguyen Dynasty Tay An pagoda, lady Chua Xu, temple and the tomb of the Thoai Ngoc Hau
